our family

In 1527 our ancestor came to India from an arab country during the kingdom of Babar and his name was Qazi Burhanudin. He settled in Baccharaon, a village in district Moradabad UP India.  He was appointed chief judge of that area.  One of his descendants named Shah Mohammed Azam was a great wali allah, a well known pious man, who has big tomb in Bacharoan. Qazi  Burhanudin has a big tomb also.

=========================

 We are Siddiqui as we are descendants of Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique who was 1st caliph or king after holy prophet (sw). Pirzada was a local adaptation when settled in Bachraon and to stick together as a group in comparison to other clan choudharees and I don’t think anyone used peerzada as part of their name

Qazi Burhanudin who migrated to India and his descendant Shah Azam who settled in Bachraon and who was a saint with a tomb

Next picture shows from Shah Azam and in circle my father name Nafees ahmad written

These four pics written down shajra or family tree from Hazrat Abu Bakar siddique  please save it for future reference and for future generation   We should be proud of our relationship to such pious people and try to copy them in character inshallah

Mohammad Athar Siddiqui was principal of school in our ancestral town named Bacharaoon in UP province of India. We lived in same house till he passed away in 1964 I think. He used to tell me stories when I was young. His wife died when my father was very young may be one year old but he never remarried and raised his son by himself.

I remember him all the time and pray for him.

-- Mohammad L Ahmad describing his paternal grandfather

 Her father name was Abdul malik and he was postmaster in  Dacca Bangladesh and her mom name was Amina Tahira Khatoon. When India split in 1947 his job was transferred to Bangladesh and my father was transferred to Jhelum Pakistan

Bachhroan, Uttar Pradesh

This neighborhood named  peerzaadgan meaning family or kids of peer sahab or saint I remember. Since our ancestor was a renowned saint who has a tomb in Bachraon. His descendants were called peerzadgans. There were two clans in our village choudharys and peerzadgaans . My father came across a descendant of the other clan in Rawalpindi and became good friends and he was a well known businessman . Here is some historic tidbits

(I don’t know if I mentioned here before that I visited our village when I was 8 years old.

Our whole family travelled to Bangladesh to attend wedding of my Khala Jaan and we stopped and visited India and we travelled by train)
